REMINDER: NO SCHOOL MONDAY JANUARY 20TH!

What an incredible day we had yesterday for Dual Credit enrollment! A huge thank you to Lexie Smith and UNM-VC for coming down to our campus to share everything they do to help students get college credit while still in high school! A total of 75 students signed up to take part and we couldn’t be more excited!

Attention: To all those interested in Dual Credit classes this spring!

Dante Barela represented SODA at the January 8th - 11th, 2025 New Mexico Music Educators Association All-State Convention in the guitar ensemble.
Dante prepared two audition pieces and scales last fall that were listened to by a panel of judges. Dante was selected as one of 72 High School students from around the state. The select few students practiced Wednesday evening and all day Thursday & Friday in preparation for Saturday mornings' performance.
The ensemble did an amazing job playing the five pieces they prepared.
Other ensembles at All-State included three bands, two orchestras and two choirs - over 700 students participated this year during the four day event. It was a wonderful time for all involved!
During the final piece - "Summer Salsa" - Dante and 5 other students moved to the front of the stage near the beginning of the piece and danced a "Salsa" for about 30 seconds!
Way to go Dante!!
We would love to see you there!

For the month of January we are having a Back to School Attendance Challenge! Make sure to be on time everyday and you'll be eligible to enter into a drawing to win some amazing prizes!
